ADVERTISING WEEK 2010 is ALMOST HERE!

Advertising Week brings together Canadian industry professionals in the largest gathering of advertising, media and communication leaders in the country. Held simultaneously across Canada, the week is about building the pride and profile of the vibrant communications industry. Advertising Week is also about illustrating the economic value of advertising initiatives and brand-building.

At over $20 billion annually, the advertising industry is a major source of employment and a significant contributor to our economy. Canada is developing a worldwide reputation for the quality of its work, as evidenced by recent international awards at Cannes and the One Show, and Advertising Week is a time to share our successes and look ahead to new opportunities. Finally, Advertising Week is about attracting and retaining Canadian talent. It is about inspiring young people to join the craft and ensuring that young people in the communications industry are rewarded, valued and nurtured.

The inaugural Canadian Advertising Week was a huge success with over 40 events and over 6,000 attendees. Building on the success of last year’s event, we will continue the offer dynamic speakers, workshops, networking opportunities, youth outreach and awards shows that made our first event such a success. Some of the exciting things planned for this year including a daily speaker series featuring thought provoking panels and workshops, screenings of highly acclaimed industry documentary “Art & Copy”, the first ever Ad Ball: A Fashion Fetish hosted by Fashion TV’s Jeanne Beker and the return of the youth oriented Next Generation Day.
